Giving through Retirement Plans

Amounts remaining in qualified retirement plans at death are generally subject to income taxes and possibly estate taxes when received by heirs. For this reason charitable gifts of retirement plan balances may well be the gift of choice from income tax and estate tax planning perspectives. If you wish to provide a loved one with income while also providing for Spenta University, you may designate retirement plans to fund a special type of gift to meet both objectives.
